When it came to choosing a yacht for chartering it wasn't as difficult a decision as you might think. From 2004-2007 we operated an Elan 36 cruiser/racer "Endeavour". She became very popular due to her outstanding sea keeping and fast sailing ability. A visit to Southampton Boat Show in September 2007 to see the 434 was an ideal opportunity to have a thorough investigation into this "Cruiser" model. The decision was made pretty quickly.
An order was placed and the Catherine J was launched at Troon in the spring of 2008 to the delight of her delivery crew who were eager to see how she would perform. At this point we would like to acknowledge the invaluable assistance of Bill MacKay the Scottish agent for Elan.
Well, the crew very quickly experienced the outstanding performance of this great yacht. We headed for the Crinan Canal on a close reach at 9 knts. Now it's your opportunity to enjoy the benefits on your holiday in Orkney.
Charters normally start and finish on a Saturday but we welcome requests for alternative days to suit your travel arrangements. We can also accomodate one-way charters finishing in Shetland, Wick or Inverness.
